課題名：ADE 抑制可能なデング・ジカ熱5 価ワクチンに関する研究開発

課題内容：
本研究課題では、デング熱・ジカ熱のワクチンを開発するため、デングウイルスおよびジカウイルスのB細胞エピトープ（構造たんぱく質）及びT細胞エピトープからなる5価ワクチンを設計し、既存のワクチン候補より感染防御のための強い交叉免疫を誘導することで抗体依存性感染増強（Antibody-Dependent Enhancement：ADE）を抑制する、画期的なデング熱ワクチンを開発することを目的とする。

Research outline:
Dengue vaccine development has been hampered by the lack of immune correlates for protection and robust models to evaluate vaccine efficacy. During secondary infection, cross-reactive, non-neutralizing antibodies are hypothesized to enhance virus infection of the Fcgamma receptor (FcγR) bearing cells.

Our strategies on developing new concepts for universal dengue vaccine design leverages on our technology and findings based on field cohort studies, clinical and epidemiological data, immunogen design by B-cell repertoire analysis and T-cell epitope prediction.

In this project, we will first use our vaccine platform to develop a universal dengue and zika vaccine as proof of concept. Working together with our collaborative partners in academia, research institutes and vaccine developers will allow the rapid transition from basic research to proof of concept.
