『日米医学協力計画』による、第25回感染症研究機関協力国際シンポジウム(IDRIC)との共催による日米共同医療科学プログラム(USJCMSP)の第25回環太平洋新興感染症に関する合同国際会議が、2025年3月11日から3月15日まで東京・一橋講堂にて開催されました。
当教室からは、モイメンリン教授、谷口怜准教授、姫野美沙緒助教、ヨオシーンリアン特任助教、芳賀和美技術専門職員の5名のスタッフで参加。
学生は、Liu Wen Tao(D3)さん、Rakwi Nensar Wai Wai Phyo(D3)さん、Wijesooriya Lavangi Shashika(D3)さん、Abdalla Ahmed Mahmoud Mohamed(D2)さん、Esraa Kamal Abdelgafar El-Shekh(D1)さん、Irish Coleen Asin(D1)さん、Sun Yi Fei, Peter(M2)さん、Wan Ka Ching, Carrie(M2)さん、Myo Thura Kyaw(M1)さん、Zhou Hang Ke(M2)さん。研究生は、Sun Qinさん、Valeria Pashkoさん、梅木真実さん。学生、研究生あわせて13名で参加しました。
日米医学協力計画(地球規模保健課題解決促進のための研究事業)は、1965年の佐藤栄作総理大臣(当時)と、リンドン・ジョンソン大統領(当時)との会談に基づき、アジア地域にまん延している疾病に関する研究を日米両国で共有して行うことを目的としています。
当教室(モイ研究室)との関係は、本計画の「ウイルス性疾患部門会」に所属し「全専門部会」をまとめる部会長を務めていた、国立感染症研究所・倉根一郎元所長と一緒に、部会員を現在まで務めております。

The 25th Joint International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases in the Pacific Rim, part of the U.S.-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP), was held from March 11 to March 15, 2025, at Hitotsubashi Hall in Tokyo. This conference was co-hosted with the 25th International Symposium on Infectious Disease Research Institution Cooperation (IDRIC) under the U.S.-Japan Medical Cooperation Program.
Five staff members from our laboratory participated: Professor Meng Ling Moi, Associate Professor Satoshi Taniguchi, Assistant Professor Misao Himeno, Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Syin Lian Yeo, Technical Specialist Kazumi Haga.

The U.S.-Japan Medical Cooperation Program (Research Project for Promoting Solutions to Global Health Issues) was established based on a 1965 meeting between then-Prime Minister Eisaku Sato and then-President Lyndon B. Johnson. Its goal is to facilitate joint research between Japan and the United States on diseases prevalent in the Asia region.
Our department has been involved in this program through the “Viral Diseases Panel,” where we have worked alongside former Director-General, Dr. Ichiro Kurane, of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, who served as the chairperson of the Japan Committee of the USJ CMSP.
